A Perfect Dosage of "Same Energy"

Image
Finally, the project was approved. Jubilation fills the boardroom. The success of an approved contract, after toiling extra hours just so the proposal can be worth the reward, is worth every sweat and long night with hot coffee. The joy on everyone's faces and even on your team members is rewarding. But deep down, you know and I am pretty sure your teammates know that you did all the giving while they did all the taking. Giving without receiving from persons or the job we keep pouring our strength into can be outrightly frustrating and downright saddening.   Nevertheless, we are told by Our Loving Father in Luke 6:35b "  and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Highest; for He is kind to ungrateful and evil men." Have you ever been in a situation where you give so much into a job, investment, relationship, or friendship and you are meted with little to no effort back? There are tons of inspirational quo...

Finger Lickin' Good.

Image
We can all agree that coming across a new delicacy and cooking it for your loved ones takes knowing the recipe. For some, it takes a cookbook. For some, it takes just browsing it out. For others, YouTube. What's next? Getting prepared. We then start out getting the ingredients. For some, we follow the instructions to the last punctuation. For some, we add a little spice. But all in all, we follow the instructions. And the main cooking begins. Ignite. Steam. Scent. Aroma. We wait. Perhaps munch on a little snack if you're like me. Or go about other activities while keeping in mind the time set for the dish. Taste. Serve. We apportion quantity in different plates. O ur loved ones are called to dig in. And they do dig in. What a great process. I have come to realise that Christianity as our lifestyle is not a lifestyle out of the norm. Not far-fetched.  Rather it's the life we have been called to live. We were created for a purpose, To serve a purpose, To win souls in purpose....

Crave more. . .nd a lil bit more.

Image
Eyes drifting. Concentration and longing fixed on the second-toppings-coated-delicious doughnut while consuming a creamy doughnut. The picture depicts what it means to crave. To feel a powerful desire for something. Cravings don't necessarily mean you don't have something good in your hand.  It means you have a powerful desire for a particular thing. So take me for example, I could have a big bowl of strawberry ice cream and still crave jumbo shawarma (foodie for life). I've come to know progressively that our cravings change with more levels attained. There was a time I didn't think I would want to ever do my master's.  But lately, I keep thinking about it and have a strong desire to accomplish that. Nevertheless, with every milestone attained, we crave to do more, be more and win more souls for the kingdom of God. As much as cravings can be good, they definitely can have a bad side to them if not checked. Poor decisions are too often the consequence of a momentary...

Happy New Month!!! Two more and bam!  A new year. It has been eventful so far.  A new experience with each month. Can't wait to see what October showers in. Expectations are heightened. We want to get to the last item on our checklist for 2021. Let's not forget to take a deep breath, Inhale,  Exhale,  And look around, just take out today and look around, Your children, Your achievements,  Your victories, Your life, And above all, His love. Jubilate, Let it spring from within, God has been good to us through the last nine months. Matthew 6: 25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" Jubilate in the Lord. He who kept you through the last nine month...

Never A Spilt Milk.

Image
It's easy to identify spilt milk, why?    Because it spilt.    It's wasted.    No one takes out their time to pour back spilt milk.    My point exactly.    Why do we see our lives as spilt milk, wasted efforts?    Wasted time.    It feels normal now for people to expect certain things for people or themselves at certain age or period.     Yes, we make wrong decisions and make mistakes.    But with God, no minute is wasted.     Life lessons build and strengthen.    It can also lessen and reduce whoever refuses to keep ploughing.    Yes, you didn't get married at the ideal age. (set by men and not by God)    Yes, you didn't get jobs lined up waiting for you to take your pick.    Yes, you didn't get feedback from that company even with all the qualifications you had.    Yes, you're in want of things.    Yes, ...

UnLearn

Image
Unlearn beliefs.  Embrace truth.  Unlearn words.  Embrace intentions.  Unlearn conditions.  Embrace selflessness.  Unlearn religion.  Embrace Christ.  Unlearn sentiments.  Embrace unconditional love.  Unlearn complaints.  Embrace prayer.  Unlearn sadness.  Embrace joy that surpasses a situation.   Unlearn to focus on a problem.  Embrace focusing on Christ who is bigger than your problem.  Unlearn self.  Embrace being the salt of the earth.  Unlearn pleasing men.  Embrace pleasing God.    Unlearn dwelling on the past.  Embrace focusing on God.  Unlearn worrying over the new week and the plans you've made.     Embrace trusting God that He is faithful to see you through, not just this week, but a lifetime. As we go through the week,  let's unlearn our understanding  and be willing to embrace acknowledging God and watch Him as He directs our paths....

Gracias, gracias mi Jesus

Psalm 7:17 "I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing  the praise of the name of the Lord Most High." Praising God for who He is, is something we rarely do. We praise Him for what He has done. We praise Him for what He is about to do. We praise Him for our heart desires. We recount what He has done for us and use that as a yardstick to hope on Him for more. Simply take out time to praise God for who He is. Praise Him for He is the King of kings. The Lord of lords.  Ubangiji (The Supreme Being.) Ebube Dike (Strong and Powerful God.) Arugbo Ojo (Ancient of Days.) Abasi Afid Abuk (God of All Flesh.) Osanobua (The one who carries and sustains the world.) Oghene (The Almighty God.) El Infinito Dios (The infinite God.) It's beautiful to seek Him for our heart desires. He is readily available to answer us. Nevertheless, let us also really dwell on who He is and praise His name. Simply praising and thanking Him for who He is to us. Psalm 106:1 ...
