A Perfect Dosage of "Same Energy"
Finally, the project was approved.
Jubilation fills the boardroom.
The success of an approved contract, after toiling extra hours just so the proposal can be worth the reward, is worth every sweat and long night with hot coffee.
The joy on everyone's faces and even on your team members is rewarding.
But deep down, you know and I am pretty sure your teammates know that you did all the giving while they did all the taking.
Giving without receiving from persons or the job we keep pouring our strength into can be outrightly frustrating and downright saddening.
Nevertheless, we are told by Our Loving Father in Luke 6:35b " and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Highest; for He is kind to ungrateful and evil men."
Have you ever been in a situation where you give so much into a job, investment, relationship, or friendship and you are meted with little to no effort back?
There are tons of inspirational quotes on how to walk away from unappreciative people all the time.
They seem correct and refreshing in their quotes, right?
Ever thought about if God did follow that inspirational quote every time we were ungrateful or unappreciative of all that He has done for us?
Yea, I thought so, we would not want that neither would I.
Giving without expectations takes an understanding that all you do is unto God and not unto that specific person or relationship.
It is not a walk in the park but neither is Christ saying you should do it alone.
It is a walk with Jesus Christ by your side.
As humans, we expect a lot of reciprocal energy.
I also do expect to receive the same energy I mete out, right? But that probably will not be the case with everyone.
Your giving is a ministry, and when it gets hard to love the "seemingly unlovable," remember that your service of giving to that job, relationship or marriage is seen and greatly rewarded by God.
So rather than preparing to "serve the same energy given back" rather "serve the unfailing love of God" through giving without expectations knowing that your Heavenly Father is indeed watching and is rewarding your giving with both earthly and eternal rewards.
So rejoice.Call that person.Help that business.Check up on that friend.
Colossians 3:23"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."
