An Ambivert at ELEVATE 1.0: Rested, Rich & Restored – A Modern Woman’s Guide to Balance

Did I ever tell my Sunny Wednesdays and Vessel Blog readers that I’m an ambivert?

I am.

And it was actually my husband who helped me understand the word while we were courting.

An ambivert is someone who naturally balances traits of both introverts and extroverts, comfortable in social spaces, and equally comfortable in solitude.

So last Saturday, I decided to step out of my comfort zone, put on my slay corporate mama style, and attend: ELEVATE 1.0 – RESTED, RICH & RESTORED: A Modern Woman’s Guide to Balance.

It was held both onsite and online, and I was privileged to be among the 25 physical women selected to attend the live event.

The Slay Before the Slay 😌

The convener, Mrs. Adetutu Ogunsanwo (Boss Lady Global), a full slay yummy mummy had us in a community group. I was thanking God there was no dress code… only to be shocked 😭

She didn’t just pick a dress code, she also shared style inspiration pictures.

As the non-slay community babe that I am daily trying to escape from, I asked the Holy Spirit for help… and my husband too.

At the last minute, my fashion-oriented husband handed me his armless cardigan, white, red, and black, international vibe sweater energy,  and I paired it with a sky blue shirt, black comfy pants, brown pumps, and a brown bag.

Let me just say it plainly:

✨ I was looking like money ✨

I got to the venue, got used for content, and honestly… I loved every bit of it.

And Then the Mayonnaise of the Shawarma Began…

Mrs. Adetutu Ogunsanwo opened the session with

“12 Lessons I Learnt After I Turned Thirty”

And whew 😭🔥

Here are the nuggets:

  • Nobody is coming to save you — build your life with God and tenacity.
  • Life will test you — be grounded in Christ and rooted in faith.
  • You can go far alone, but to go far graciously, you need people — the right friends and community.
  • Unity is not weakness; it is wisdom.
  • Character will open doors or close them. Seek honest feedback.
  • Stand for something or you’ll fall for anything. Know your value and your voice.
  • Some doors only open when you’re bold.
  • Your skills must align with your season.
  • You will always live by faith.
  • Choose to value your parents differently, she said as she became a mum, she understood her mum better and made their relationship even more bonded.
  • Don’t romanticise seasons that once stressed you — growth is forward.
  • Fear and imposter syndrome are real, but God is realer. Your gifting is real.
  • Fulfilling purpose: requires forgiveness, healing, and growth — Romans 8:1. Growth is not about being perfect, but willing.

Confession:

  • My life is not behind schedule.

And by now, I know you’ve already “hmmm’d” and “haaa’d” — but that was just the mayonnaise of the shawarma.

The Delectable Filling: “How To Make More” – Min. Mrs. Dami Fayanjuola (Founder, Peepuu)

She made it feel like a girl gist room — safe, warm, real.

She shifted our mindset from survival money to value money.

Key takeaways:

  • Money is a tool.
  • Wealth requires a different mindset.
  • Understand times, seasons, and transitions.
  • Wealth grows when you harness your strength.
  • Your income should not depend on location or circumstances.
  • Recognise your gifts — don’t commonise your strength.
  • Learn to bill properly. Value your value.
One line that stayed with me:
Wealth is easily built when I harness my strength.

The Sauced Chicken: Mrs. Motolani Akintayo (Clinical Psychologist)

I tried to form hard girl… but I teared up.

She unlocked emotions I had buried and even discussed with God privately. She introduced the A-B-C Technique:

  1. A — Activating Event: What happens to you. Events you cannot control, activities that happen to you that are not necessarily your fault.
  2. B — Behaviour (Cognitive Response): What you think about what happened.
  3.  C — Consequence: The resulting effects of your reaction, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Truth:
A does not cause C directly.
B causes C.
So the real formula is: A → B → C
(Activitating Events→ Behaviour → Consequence)

Not:

A → C ❌

She said:

“It’s not what happens to you that breaks you, it’s how you think about it and how you respond to it.”

She spoke about:

  • Gratitude
  • Existential therapy
  • Rest
  • Professional help
  • Prayer and meditation

By now, my recommended glasses were doing heavy emotional cover work 😭

The Smoothie: Skincare & Self-Love – Mrs. Oluwasefunmi Esther Ayodele

She redefined skincare for us:

Healthy skin is skin that is understood, protected, and cared for.

Key truths:

  • Acne is a reaction to internal and external factors.
  • Healthy skin is not a fair skin, she stated that being fair does not equate to having healthy skin.
  • Itchy skin is a way your skin is communicating with you.
  • Don’t overcomplicate skincare.
  • Approach professionals, not trends.

Skincare & Identity:

Who am I?

How do I treat myself?

What do I think I deserve?

Skincare is not just physical — it’s psychological and emotional.

Skincare as Self-Care:

Skincare is a journey.

Build a healthy foundation first.

Skincare is daily self-acknowledgement.

Your skin is your baby — protect and nurture it.

Identity Shift:

From:

“I don’t have time for myself.”

“I don’t deserve care.”

“I’m too busy.”

To:

“I am worthy of care.”

“My wellbeing matters.”

“Self-care is not selfish.”

“Your Skin Tells a Story”

Your skin reflects:

  • Stress
  • Sleep
  • Diet
  • Hormones
  • Environment

Meaning: Your skin is not just reacting to products

it’s responding to your life.

Power line:

Your skin is a messenger, not an enemy.

Skin Types

  • Dry Skin
  • Oily Skin
  • Combination Skin
  • Sensitive Skin

And yes — skin type can change due to childbirth, hormones, stress, age, environment, and lifestyle.

Final Nuggets

Basic Skincare Routine:

  • Cleansing
  • Moisturising
  • Sunscreen
  • Drink water 💧
  • Life & Identity:
  • Destiny is a lonely journey.
  • Embrace your seasons.
  • Don’t compare yourself.
  • Embrace your changes.

Business & Growth:

  • Business is driven by what people want, not always what they need.
  • Build skills.
  • Understand the market.
  • Create value.

We laughed.

We cried.

We prayed.

We created content.

We hugged.

We loved.

We bonded.

We healed.

It was a beautifully wrapped shawarma with smoothie.

And imagine if I had kept all this goodness from you?

There’s a gift for those who read to the end.

In a world of fast scrolling, I honour those who still sit, read, and digest.

See you on Wednesday for BETROTHED 💍

  2. Wow!!! This is really beautiful. Thanks for this, it's an answered prayer. Earlier today, I was thinking of how I didn't hear certain things because I was busy with managing the event at some point which I count a great privilege. But I desired to remember some things that I heard but couldn't capture. Thank you for helping with that. Indeed, it was a very very rich event. God bless the BOSS LADY GLOBAL brand.
