SUNNY WEDNESDAYS (IVIE)

   “Ma, you should be resting, I didn’t hear you come in”

Ivie smiled as she took the remaining cookie dough ice-cream from the fridge and gestured to Rita to join her.

“And you shouldn’t be cleaning my apartment Ivie, you have done so much already”.

Rita smiled as she made sure to put the blankets in the washing machine right across the hallway that led to the balcony overseeing the glittering five-star resort.

She took the spoon her boss offered and dug right into the sumptuous ice-cream.

“And I intend to do more Ma, don’t try to stop me”

Ivie laughed as she put her hands up in surrender.

"I will like to take you up on your offer,"

"What offer, Ma"

"I will love to attend service with you this week, if you don't mind,"

Rita could not hide her joy, she leaped out of her seat and yelped.

Ivie laughed heartily and stared at her assistant who recently was now a great part of her journey. 

"This is great news Ma'am, we cannot wait to have you, I am confident that when you step into the sanctuary, the love will be so overwhelming that you will become an instant member," Rita smiled as she held her chest high to prove her point.

Ivie laughed as she kept the cookie dough empty ice-cream aside and scooped a huge chunk out of the chocolate coated ice-cream she had retrieved from her fridge and nodded, "if you say so."

Dancing as she stepped into her room, Tunde interestingly stared at his wife.

"Is this going to be another gist of you and you Boss?" He smirked knowingly.

Rita leaped on her husband of four years and counting, and planted a big kiss on his cheek.

"Even greater news babe, my boss has agreed to come to church with me, she just said it out of the blue"

Tunde smiled as he tried to save his cheeks from his wife's plenty kisses, "out of the blue?"

"Yea, we were enjoying a bowl of chocolate raisin ice-cream and she just blurted it,"

Tunde calmly looked at his chubby dark-skinned petite wife and took her neatly manicured hands into his "you sowed a seed of love, and that's what Jesus Christ is all about, she wants to meet your God,"

Rita smiled as it dawned on her, she has represented the love of Christ to her boss, she had not relented, she had not judged neither did she join her colleagues to make snide remarks about the predicament of her boss’s home but rather had shown love.

"Thank you Baby, thank you for encouraging me to do this, I couldn't have been consistent without you," Rita hugged Tunde lovingly, 

The weight of his chubby wife compressed him into the bed as he struggled for air, "Oh my, Rita, don't suffocate me na," he laughed heartily as he embraced her further.
