Your Right, His Right.

I've learnt overtime that we, as humans, have our rights.

This cuts across all aspect of our lives.

Right to vote and be voted for.

Right to good education.

Right to freedom of speech.

Right to be respected.

Right to your own things.

Right to freedom of thoughts.

Right to freedom of expression.

Right to public assembly.

Right to food and shelter.

Right to social security and so many others.

All of which are pretty good and somewhat essential, but in it all, I've also learnt that, some rights have to go.

Right to defend yourself from opposers.

Right to treat others the way they treat you.

Right to make people know that you can fight for yourself.

Right to revenge or avenge.

Exodus 14:14 "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

It's painful to let others 'get away' with their perceptions of you, or assumptions.

It's hurtful when your actions are misread and shredded into pieces.

It's also degrading when your feelings and emotions are counted as irrelevant in the affairs of things.

We've seen this play out, even in the global world.

With everything ongoing, we've come to realise that the only One that can fight for us and make our victory absolute is Christ.
Not just the voices(which is also essential), not just the peaceful protest, or ache felt by the majority, not just the constant cry for justice over the  discrimination of some races.

It is His right to fight for us and He wants to wholeheartedly.

His right is to see that we rely on Him.

His right is seeing the absolute trust we have in Him.

His right is knowing that even with the opposition, we'll listen to him and follow His instructions in any situation we find ourselves in.

Above all these, Christ is our Defender and in Him, we are able to remain calm even in raging storms.

  1. This is one of the best I've read on this blog. Our right begins when we handover everything to God!

  2. Rights are likened to adjustable table; if not adjusted properly delivers no leverage.
    Let's fix our rights rightly.
    Nice one!
