BLINK
We really, sometimes, don't want to process how fleeting life is.
We make use of our lives and opportunities like we have some reserved somewhere else.
I almost witnessed an accident and I can still remember how I felt seeing the lady under the bus.
I couldn't begin to imagine what was going through her mind as students and some passers-by tried to raise the bus, in order to rescue her.
A lot of persons have died that way and more have died in lesser ways than that.
We really don't ever reflect, all we do or say something like "wow, she has gone, this life ehn".
We sympathise with them and move on with our lives, not getting any lesson but just doing the norm; lamentation.
Things that are life threatening and even near death experiences are meant to shake us and make us take life seriously, knowing fully well that we would all give an account of our lives.
We busy ourselves with desires and wants of life, forgetting our mandate on earth and who we represent.
It takes just a blink for us to leave this world, just a blink for it to be all over.
The earlier we focus on what matters most (God) and leave those things which we so desire and want, that irrespective of how we try, we still can't do it the way He does, the better for us.
Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee".
When our lives (minds) are stayed on Him, we would be confident in life and not worry about the things of the world or be scared when it's time to go back home (heaven).
I like the scripture, everything becomes calm and focus is restored when we stay on God

DeleteThis world is temporal; heaven is eternal. We should remain focused on the eternal.
